Mechanical Surveys

In many Industries, Mechanical systems are the backbone of operations. Thermal data collected with a thermal imaging camera can be an invaluable source of information.

Typically, when mechanical components become worn or misaligned, the heat dissipated will increase. Consequently, the temperature of faulty equipment or systems will increase before failure. By periodically comparing readings from a thermal imaging camera with a machine's temperature signature, under normal operating conditions, you can detect of potential failures:

  • Overheating, bearing, gearboxes, misalignment of motors pumps etc..
  • Pumps, fans compressors, couplings, bearings, hydraulics, passing valves, drive, conveyors, etc.
  • Leaking pipe work: Steam pipes, underfloor heating, etc.

Electrical Surveys

The electrical system is a critical component in most facilities. Should a main electrical component fail the facility may be completely shut down, creating safety issues, loss of revenue, damage to other equipment. Thermography is a simple and effective method of detecting potential failures, such as:

  • Overheating of contactors, relays, plc’s etc.
  • Overloaded / short circuits
  • Loose terminal connections
  • High temperatures in electrical panels terminal boxes, machine isolators
  • Areas of high resistance/impedance

An electrical equipment survey will allow you to take action early so that your system stays stable and efficient.
